In 1900 leefde slechts 13% van de wereldbevolking in steden. Vandaag is dat 54%. Er wordt verwacht dat in 2050 tot 80% van de bevolking in steden zal wonen. Het is dan ook belangrijk om na te denken over hoe we onze steden en samenlevingen kunnen organiseren om ze vandaag en in de toekomst bewoonbaar te houden. We moeten hiervoor nieuwe concepten ontwerpen en nieuwe architecturale en stedenbouwkundige strategieën ontwikkelen.

Daarbij dient simultaan te worden omgegaan met basisconcepten: ‘connexion’: samenhang, verband; ‘hétérogénéité’: ongelijksoordigheid; ‘multiplucité’: menigvuldigheid, veelheid; ‘rupture asignifiante’: zonder zekerheden; ‘cartographie’: kaarten, plannen, routes; ‘décalcomanie’: desharmonie, zonder structuur “.
De holistische benadering, de technisch-wetenschappelijke kennis, de humaan-wetenschappelijke onderbouwing, het architectuurhistorisch onderzoek is in de eerste plaats een middel en een mengeling van feitelijke kennis, artistieke vaardigheid en vakmanschap & het aanvoelen van de tijdsgeest. Dat maakt van bouwen (in de praktijk) een creatieve synthetische surplus dat van architectuur een volwaardige cultuurcomponent kan maken.
Van een holistisch onderzoek via een pragmatische academische terminologie streven we naar een architectuur en stedenbouw, die de beschikbare ruimte optimaliseert en de fysieke en menselijke context sublimeert.

The holistic approach, the technical-scientific knowledge, the human-scientific basis, the architecture-historical research is primarily a means and a mixture of factual knowledge, artistic skill and craftsmanship and the feeling of the spirit of the times. This makes building (in practice) a creative synthetic surplus that can make architecture a full-fledged cultural component. From a holistic research through a pragmatic academic terminology, we strive for an architecture and urban design that optimizes the available space and sublimates the physical and human context.
